JCEEI and IBM have held two scoping workshops to explore applications of geospatial foundation models.
The workshops have brought together researchers from Plymouth Marine Lab, University of Exeter and Met Office to brainstorm potential applications for foundation models based on satellite imagery and weather. The team are now drafting a project brief to
collaborate over the next 12 months on several applications, including monitoring the surface ocean carbon cycle using Sentinel 2/3 data.
